Most advertising is offensive, intrusive, aggravating, annoying and intellectually based at the lowest common denominator so it’s hard business to remain prideful. But when it’s done well, the wall or billboard that celebrates a brand artfully and beautifully can be part of our culture as opposed to some form of pollution.
And by the way, everything in life is writable about if you have the outgoing guts to do it, and the imagination to improvise. The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt.
I think that you find your own way. You have your own rules. You have your own understanding of yourself, and that’s what you’re going to count on. In the end, it’s what feels right to you. Not what your mother told you. Not what some actress told you. Not what anybody else told you but the still, small voice.
“There were people who went to sleep last night,
poor and rich and white and black,
but they will never wake again.
And those dead folks would give anything at all
for just five minutes of this weather
or ten minutes of plowing.
So you watch yourself about complaining.
What you’re supposed to do
when you don’t like a thing is change it.
If you can’t change it,
change the way you think about it.”
You’re alive. That means you have infinite potential. You can do anything, make anything, dream anything. If you change the world, the world will change.
